Water Chestnuts

Water Chestnuts

In addition to weeds and algae, there is another invasive species in the lake – water chestnuts. Provided below is an article from yesterday’s PJ identifying the removal of the water chestnuts from the lake.  A BIG shout out to the Western New York (WNY) Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management (PRISM), the Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History (RTPI),  the Chautauqua Lake and Watershed Management Alliance (Alliance) and Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy (CWC) for keeping this invasive species under control in our lake before it becomes a huge problem.

We are fortunate to have so many organizations looking to the health of Chautauqua Lake.
