Chautauqua Lake Quality Studies and Panel

There were two articles of interest relative to the lake water quality recently published in the Jamestown Post Journal (PJ).  The first summarizes recent studies, for which there is no conclusion, but it is interesting to note what is being said:

The second article is an announcement from the Chautauqua Lake and Watershed Alliance about a public event for a panel presentation that is being hosted virtually on April 10 at 9:30 AM, which will have some of the personnel who have performed these studies and who will be discussing the issues:

Also of note, as we have noted before, the local townships have submitted applications to the NYS DEC for herbicide permits for 2021.  North Harmony opted not to submit an application for herbicides.  If you live in North Harmony and want to have herbicides applied, if approved by the DEC, it is not too late to contact your representatives to encourage them to submit an application.
