The Chautauqua Lake Association (CLA) recently made several statements regarding the proposed us of herbicides Chautauqua Lake in 2021 and the effects of herbicides. SOLitude Lake Management (solitudelakemanagement.com) is the company that was hired to apply the herbicides on the lake in 2021 and has done so over the last few years, and who then studied and published the effects of the herbicides on the lake environment. SOLitude would apply the herbicides in 2021 pending the approval of the applications from the townships by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC). Upon reading what the CLA had published, SOLitude, issued a response to the CLA misinformation, which is provided below:
